About Kendra Penney

I’m Kendra Penney, a registered physiotherapist. I graduated from Queens University with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 2014, after completing my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick in 2012.

Since entering the field, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of conditions and age groups, completing additional training in manual therapy, functional dry needling, and functional movement assessment.

In 2019, I began my journey into women’s health after realizing how crucial pelvic floor knowledge was in supporting my orthopedic clients. Since then, I’ve continued to expand my skills through ongoing education and now offer care in orthopedic physiotherapy, women’s pelvic health, pediatric physiotherapy, and breast health.

After welcoming my two sons, born in August 2021 and September 2023, my passion for perinatal care deepened. I’m a strong advocate for preventative health, especially during pregnancy and postpartum. I believe that understanding how your body changes, how to support recovery, and how to return safely to the activities you love can make a lasting impact on your quality of life. That’s where I come in.

My personal experience navigating my children’s diagnoses of congenital torticollis, posterior tongue ties, and lip ties sparked a growing interest in infant care. These experiences led me to pursue additional training in infant assessment and treatment so I can better support families during those crucial early stages.

Whether you’re preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, or seeking care for your little one, I’m here to help you feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

A bit more…

When not working with clients, you can find me spending most of my free time with my husband, our sons and our Bernese Mountain Dog! I enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible to hike, paddle-board and take in all the scenery that Nova Scotia has to offer. I also spend time doing yoga, enjoy strength training, and am always looking forward to our next travel adventure, big or small!
