Supporting your baby’s development with gentle, hands-on physiotherapy care
Pediatric Physiotherapy for Infants
In-office appointments available
Your baby’s early months are a time of rapid growth and change, and physiotherapy can help support them every step of the way.
At Mama Wellness Co., our infant physiotherapy services are designed to gently support your baby’s physical development, whether they need help with oral motor function, movement, or head and neck alignment. Tension, asymmetry, and muscle tightness can impact feeding, motor milestones, and head shape, often showing up during breastfeeding, bottle feeding, tummy time, or developmental play.
Using gentle, hands-on bodywork techniques including soft tissue release, stretching, and manual therapy, we help:
Release tension in the neck, jaw, and oral muscles
Encourage proper posture and movement for feeding and play
Support head and neck mobility in cases of torticollis and plagiocephaly
Promote relaxed, efficient movement to support gross motor milestones
We also offer guidance on feeding positions, tummy time, and simple at-home strategies, helping your baby move, feed, and grow with more ease and comfort.
The goal of pediatric physiotherapy for infants is to support healthy growth and development by addressing challenges with movement, posture, and muscle tension. Through gentle hands-on techniques and guided purposeful play, we help your baby build strength, improve coordination, and reach their motor milestones in a comfortable and engaging way. Our approach also empowers parents with practical strategies to support their baby’s progress at home, fostering confidence and connection throughout this important stage.
What to expect during a pediatric physiotherapy assessment?
Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to fill out a health intake form and Mama Wellness Co’s consent form. This helps us gain a better understanding of your infant’s health history before beginning your one-on-one, 60-minute assessment. During the assessment, I will take a detailed health history, review your goals, explain relevant anatomy to help you better understand your baby’s body, and describe each assessment option and its importance. I will evaluate oral motor function, including latch, tongue movement, and suck patterns, as well as overall motor development and any areas of tension or asymmetry. Based on our findings, we will develop a treatment plan together to support your baby’s progress and goals.
